Neuro-ophthalmology, a unique and critical field bridging neurology, neurosurgery, radiology and ophthalmology plays an indispensable role in diagnosing and managing visual problems arising from disorders of the brain, optic nerves, and eye movements. Given the significant overlap between neurological and ophthalmic conditions, and the potential for vision loss and systemic implications, expertise in this area is paramount.

To address this need and share the insights from our dedicated Neuro-ophthalmology services at L V Prasad Eye Institute, we are launching a comprehensive online course in Neuro-ophthalmology.

• Identify and distinguish key clinical signs in Neuro-ophthalmology
• Learn to classify Neuro-ophthalmological disorders into broad groups for systematic diagnosis and management of patients
• Learn to apply relevant imaging modalities to diagnose, monitor, and understand the pathophysiology of Neuro-ophthalmic disorders
• To develop a rational approach to the use of laboratory and radiological investigations in Neuro-ophthalmology.
• To understand the judicious use of medications, including steroids and immunosuppressive therapy, in relevant Neuro-ophthalmic conditions
• To understand the principles of managing ocular complications, in the context of systemic diseases.
• To differentiate neuro-ophthalmic masquerade syndromes from primary Neuro-ophthalmological disorders.

• Weekly Sessions: Each week is dedicated to a specific Neuro-ophthalmology topic, fostering in-depth understanding and skill development.
• Hybrid Learning: Participants will engage hybrid learning model combining synchronous and asynchronous with Live sessions on a weekly basis, which would then be available as pre-recorded sessions, allowing them to learn at their own pace.
• Live Interactive Sessions: Participants will join an expert-led live interactive session weekly, designed to promote interactive learning and to address queries and enhance conceptual clarity.
• Assessments: Each module will contain an MCQ-based assessment to evaluate understanding and retention of key concepts.

Dr. Aditi S Parikh has completed her undergraduate training from Karamsad, Gujarat followed by postgraduate trainings from Bapuji hospitals, Davangere (DOMS) and Prabha eye clinic, Bangalore (DNB), Karnataka. Later, she worked as a consultant at Shekar eye hospital, Bangalore. She acquired her fellowship training in paediatric ophthalmology, strabismus and neuro-ophthalmology at L V Prasad eye institute, Hyderabad. During this time, she gained experience in managing various eye conditions including paediatric cataracts, refractive errors, amblyopia, simple and complex strabismus, and neuro-ophthalmology.
